Os samaritanos e a história de sua origem

As narrativas sobre a origem de um povo, de suas tradições, cultura, costumes, religião e outros, de alguma forma, sempre apresenta em seus enredos elementos apologéticos, aspectos de diferenciação, mitos, conflitos com outros povos, lutas por garantias e reconhecimento, etc. O presente artigo apresenta uma das narrativas sobre a origem dos samaritanos. A ênfase, contudo, recai sobre a história que os samaritanos contam sobre si. Para esse empreendimento utilizaremos como metodologia de análise, parte do discurso de três literaturas samaritanas – a Crônica Tolidah ou Neubauer, a Crônica Katib al Tarikh de Abu’l Fath e a Crônica Samaritana II -, e a narrativa bíblica, em que os samaritanos se veem como descentes de José, representados em Efraim e Manassés.
