Abstract

The Gospel according to Mark was the first to be written and served as the source for the gospels according to Matthew, Luke and John, respectively. Mark is the only evangelist who calls his work “gospel”, a word from the Greek language, euangélion, “good news”. For him, the good news is Jesus Christ himself. This article intends to focus on the person of Jesus in confrontation with the forces of evil, symbolized by temptations and at the same time his victory over them, which encourages us to reform our lives and feeds our hope in an ecclesial and social reality more fraternal, humane and just.
