O que fareis vós para o dia da Festa de Javé? Uma análise da perícope de Oseias 9,1-9

Abstract

The book of Hosea makes us cast watchful eye over a little explored region in relation to biblical research: the Northern Kingdom, in their traditions, literature, among other relevant aspects. The pericope which now will be examined shows us a hard time in the history of the people. This time characterized by enacting a harsh sentence as paid to a religious context clearly trivialized and, similar to what the text itself brings prostituted, where foreign alliances are the main outstanding element. Israel would be devastated, and on the run, the nation would go through extreme days in the struggle for survival. However, Hosea tends to show the people that the Lord had not forgotten them. As a true messenger of love, the prophet shows that the alliance would be restored by Yahweh that, even in adversity, would continue taking care of his people.
