The gift of wisdom for a righteous government according Wis 9,1-18

The sapiential literature reflects on the issues inherent to human life in accordance with the will of its Creator, so that it may live well, always maintaining a balance between created things. The theme on which this article focuses was as real and necessary for the time when the book of wisdom was written as for the present time. When rulers close their eyes to do what is right, the people suffer; they become oppressors of those they should care for and protect. Wis 9:1-18 demonstrates that only connected to God, through wisdom, can a ruler establish a righteous kingdom. This prevents those who were once oppressed from reproducing the same system to which they were subjected. The purpose of this study is to analyze the prayer attributed to Solomon who, in order to govern, with justice and equity, asked God for wisdom. Six parts make up this analysis: introduction; segmented translation and textual criticism notes; literary structure and genre; organization and delimitation; exegetical-theological commentary; and final considerations. Wis 9:1-18 was addressed both diachronically and synchronously.
