Ambition: the evil that threatens the community (Mk 10,35-45)
Keywords:
ambition, community, disciples, Jesus, evil, powerAbstract
We intend with this article to identify the presence of evil in the Christian community, manifested in the ambition of the disciples from the passage Mark 10:35-45. As Jesus walked with the Twelve to Jerusalem, having already announced the passion three times, the disciples remained indifferent to his teaching and fed false ideas of power and prestige in the light of the existing models. The consequences of this incomprehension of an authority exercised by the service, as Jesus wanted, results in the division of the community, creating a climate of rivalry among the disciples. With this Jesus intervenes, to catechize them again, and thus combating the evil ingrained in them, presenting the availability to serve as a credential for being his follower.
